We had an excellent day with Captain John and Mate Butch! Our 15, 13, and 11-year-old kids joined us for a morning adventure at sea, and it was beautiful! We extended our 3-hour trip to 4 hours, which was perfect for our kids, though it might be a bit long for younger children. The boat was excellent, clean, and comfortably fit all of us. We caught over 20 Spanish mackerel, 2 lizard fish, and 2 sharks! We managed 4-5 lines at a time, and the equipment was in great condition and worked perfectly. Despite some lulls, there were moments when multiple lines were popping simultaneously. Reeling in a shark was the ultimate thrill! We highly recommend Captain John, Butch, and Fired Up – 10/10!

We had a fantastic time celebrating my son’s 12th birthday. Next time, I’d opt for a morning trip to catch more fish. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and we’ll definitely be back. Plus, we got to see Larry the sea turtle!

Captain John was amazing in setting expectations and answering all of my questions beforehand with great knowledge and availability. Despite the weather looking questionable, he was ready to be flexible and work around the storm front. Fortunately, the weather turned out to be absolutely beautiful for our planned outing. The crew was incredibly patient with our group of newbies and took excellent care of us. We started reeling in fish almost as soon as we left the canal! We gained a wealth of knowledge and were entertained with awesome stories and anecdotes throughout the trip. This top-notch, passionate, local team is exactly who you want guiding you through the Carolina Beach waterways! We couldn’t have been more pleased or had a more enjoyable time. We even got to feed a sea turtle in the canal at the end of our trip. We came home with a ton of fish and enjoyed delicious fish tacos afterward. Captain John and Butch are the real deal! We learned so much and can't wait to go out with them again. Thank you for making it an unforgettable birthday outing! You were absolutely delightful!
